Building America forms research partnerships with all facets of the residential building industry to improve the quality and energy efficiency of homes. The goal is to develop cost effective solutions that reduce the average energy use of housing by 40% to 100%. The Builders Challenge
The Builders Challenge provides a flexible, turnkey solution to builders wishing to excel in energy and quality performance in their markets:
Qualifying homes are verified by independent, accredited energy raters. Qualifying homes must meet the Challenge's energy requirements by a prescriptive or performance path:
- Receiving a score of 70 or lower on the E-Scale and
- Fulfilling the Builders Challenge Quality Criteria for durability, health, safety, and comfort.
